We have an immediate opportunity for a talented technical professional with a solid understanding of the IBM SOA Lifecycle and experience designing and implementing WebSphere Portal and WebSphere Commerce solutions (WCS). This specialist is responsible for the successful delivery of WebSphere Commerce and Portal solutions to clients.
The WCS performs technical tasks including analysis, architecture, design, programming, testing, product installation and support of complex WebSphere Commerce solutions to meet client requirements. The WCS also manages client relationships within the context of the technical development role. This role will involve focus on Portal installation and configuration, as well as some portlet development.
The WebSphere Commerce Administrator has overall responsibility for the effective implementation, ongoing growth and day-to-day support of the company's WebSphere Commerce Stores. The WebSphere Commerce Administrator ( Process) has responsibility of the Business Process aspects of WebSphere Commerce, WebSphere Commerce Accelerator and WebSphere Commerce Sales Center and works with business subject matter experts to ensure full internalization of WebSphere Commerce within the business and provides ongoing training , marketing and configuration assistance on these products.
This engineer will be part of the 3 member team providing support and on call rotation 24x7. The engineer will be required to work second shift 2-3 months in a year.
Position Objectives:
- Critical part of the team, managing N-tier application(s) at 99.95% availability.
- Support a small number of complex customer Web hosting enterprise environments through advanced knowledge and troubleshooting.
- Provide crisis management during customer outages and P4 events.
Essential duties:
- Configures and manages security within the store
- Configures and manages store and catalog settings
- Performs the following as well as ensuring adequate initial and ongoing training of business SMEs and end users on the use of Commerce
- Accelerator and Sales Center including:
- Open and close the store
- Change the store’s look and feel
- Maintain tax, shipping and fulfillment center settings
- Review store statistics and business intelligence reports to track marketing and sales
- Set up and use collaborative workspaces
- Maintain catalog
- Set-up auctions, up-sells or cross-sells, discounts, or Product Advisor
- Maintain customer registration information
- Manage the end-to-end order process
- View auctions available at your store
- Provide real-time customer support through live chatting
- Monitor order management, operational, and customer service reports to track store sales
- Manage customer segments
- Work with campaigns, e-Marketing Spots, promotions, and awareness ads
- Listing all outstanding payment transactions
- Supports SOX compliance by maintaining the environment within established guidelines and participating as requested in annual and other audits
- Maintain housekeeping
- Design/Develop/Maintain IBM WebSphere Portal solutions using JAVA, J2EE, XML, etc.
- Manage IBM WebSphere and WebSphere Portal environment including operation, upgrades, monitoring, security & deployment.
- Maintain, develop and update the structured Portal Intranet framework (security implementation, design, layout, graphical content and navigation.)
- Troubleshoots system problems and provides timely resolutions.
- Supports end-users in the use of deployed portal applications as necessary.
Required skills:
- Experience as a member of a technical project team, from design through delivery
- Ability to install and configure WebSphere Application Server ND
- Ability to install and configure WebSphere Portal (experience with clustered environments preferred)
- Ability to install and configure HTTP servers, DB2, and WebSphere Edge Components
- Ability to configure WebSphere Portal for LDAP and Lotus Integration (Mail, Sametime, quickplace, etc).
- Ability to customize WebSphere Portal themes and skins
- Ability to develop JSR-168 compatible portlets using Rational Application Developer
- WebSphere Portlet Factory knowledge, and ability to build custom portlets surfacing web services and RDBMS. Knowledge of the WPF Dashboard framework.
- Experience with Java Server Faces (JSF) in portlet development
- Familiarity with XMLAccess, ReleaseBuilder, and environment migration
- Solid understanding of web services concepts: building both web service clients and service enabling existing applications.
- Understanding of the IBM SOA Lifecycle and related tools: WebSphere Business Modeler, WebSphere Integration Developer, WebSphere Process Server, and WebSphere Business Modeler
- Understanding of how WebSphere Portal fits into an overall SOA architecture.
- Familiarity with Business Process Choreography API.
- Knowledge of UML and OOAD tools (e.g. Rational Rose)
- Experience installing and configuring WebSphere Content Manager (WCM) and developing WCM solutions a plus, not required.
- Database knowledge in DB2 or other enterprise-class RDBMS
- Ability to work closely with clients and deal with them in a professional manner
